If you are are looking for tips for getting beautiful skin for your wedding day, you've come to the right place! We asked the super talented Lotte Laure Colombine from LLC Makeup to share with us her top tips for skincare and makeup for the big day. When thinking about your make up on your wedding day the first thing to start looking after is your skin. Yes makeup is amazing but it’s not magic. Skincare forms the true base for how well your makeup looks and lasts on your wedding day and that is the ultimate goal for every bride.
There is no shortcut for getting healthy skin and it’s also not really about expensive products but more about a daily routine that you are consistent with in the lead up to your wedding. I am a fully qualified aesthetic therapist and therefore extra interested skincare, skin health and getting it to its best for my clients wedding day. Skincare and makeup go hand in hand. I always discuss skincare with my brides and give them detailed skincare and product advice so they will get their skin glowing and radiant for their big day. I always start by advising my clients to start drinking more water. Then for skincare I would recommend a double cleansing routine; First a pre cleansing oil to remove makeup (turns to a milky consistency when water is added) I prefer a separate eye makeup remover for the eyes. Then a mild cleanser to cleanse your skin, preferably a cleansing milk or a very low foaming cleanser to not dry out your skin. A toner if you like buy that is not necessary, I like an acid type toner to also mildly exfoliate but be careful if you have sensitive skin. Eye cream is the next step and in my opinion a vital one! I’m using eyecream since I was 20 and it has really made a difference I believe. A serum is also a must have step! They have smaller molecules and can therefore penetrate the skin to a slightly deeper level. Retinols by night for extra anti ageing and a moisturiser with spf every day, 365 days a year! Prevention is better than cure so look after your skin and you’ll thank me later. A mask a few times a week is great for a little something extra. I’m also a big fan of rolling, which aids to deeper penetration of your products. I love what I do and am passionate about my art. I specialise in soft glam, use high quality products and do my work with pride. Get in touch with me via the link at the start of the article for more info!
