Wedding Planning Tips... |
After all of the effort, time, anxiety and of course excitement involved in organising your big day, it can be so lovely to have a honeymoon to look forward to for some R&R with your other half! Honeymoon planning can be lots of fun, if you take the advice of Travel Counsellors Karen Pugh on board! Read on for Karen's top tips for stress-free honeymoon planning... For many couples, their honeymoon is a once in a lifetime trip, a chance to do something very special. Having booked well in excess of 300 honeymoons in my career, I like to think I’ve learned a thing or two. So, here are 6 practical tips to get you started on a stress-free honeymoon planning journey...
What’s important? Do you want to relax on an exotic beach while your partner wants to scale the highest mountain? Maybe you can do both! Talk to me so that we can find the perfect compromise. It’s rare that there isn’t a way to incorporate both your dreams (if they’re different!) into one reality. When to go? At least half of all my couples now wait for a while after their actual wedding date to go on their honeymoon and there are many reasons for this, not least financial. Waiting also means a chance to get in that extra trip, a Minimoon, which I can help organise too! Weather Considerations You can never predict the weather and while it’s sunny in Europe it can be wet elsewhere. So before you commit to that dream destination on that ideal date, check in with me. We can try to prevent you having to deal with extreme weather on this trip of a lifetime. Budget How long is a piece of string? Don’t worry about what others are spending as there is a honeymoon for every budget! If you’re unsure what figure to put in that wedding spreadsheet talk to me well in advance. I can provide you with some costs so you can work towards saving for your trip. I often start talking to couples two years before the big day. Plan Early From being able to set your budget to getting the best deal, there are so many benefits to planning and booking early. If you’re travelling during school holidays book as early as possible, 10-11 months before is a good rule of thumb, for those more flexible with dates at least 6 months before is ideal, but the earlier the better. Trust the expert! My job is to match you both with the perfect once in a lifetime trip. I love getting to know my clients, what they want and need and finding them the best value for money. I treat your trip as if it’s my own. Of course, travel is fraught with unknowns but booking with Travel Counsellors means that you are protected, plus you have me and our huge team behind the scenes here for you before, during and after your trip. So give me a call and let’s get planning...!

The couple's honeymoon should always be stress free. I mean, what is the point of having a honeymoon if you are not even going to enjoy it. It is a night of just hearts and love, so you need to make the most out of it. You have to plan it well, though. Couples who do not plan for their honeymoon just encounter lots of different problems, and it is not a great way to start your marriage, it really isn't.

The Packhorse Hut itself has been renovated and now has one large bunk room with 9 bunks in the back and a fire with plenty of seating in the front. A non-flushing toilet is situated behind the hut. Although there is water in a tank it isn't treated so bring plenty of your own unless you can boil it. This hut has to be booked if you want to stay overnight but would make for a great weekend adventure with kids or a first overnighter for beginner hikers. We had lunch sitting in the sun out the front of the hut before descending the same way we had come up. This took closer to 45mins as it is all down hill and easy walking.
