Wedding Planning Tips...
So, you're recently engaged and SO excited about planning yourselves a beautiful and super fun-filled wedding?!
Great, just a few words of advice from ourselves, Caroline & Mark from Pink Lime Studios. We're in the business just over 10 years and have seen it all. Our biggest tip is to not stress on the detail. It will all come together fabulously in the end. Easier said than done we know, but really, what matters is you guys, and coming together as husband and wife, surrounded by all your amazing family and friends.
In the morning:
The morning goes so fast, and before you know it, it's time to go! We love to have our brides ready 1.5 hours before ceremony kick-off so that we have time for Bridal portraits – all that time in the chair with fab make up and hair stylists, let's capture that glory! And that dress, omg let's get you near a big window and capture it's divine beauty on you!
We enter full stealth mode here! You'll barely notice us capturing all your beautiful and amazing moments that unfold. Tears and laughter too, plenty of that please! Oh and have snacks in the wedding car for after, you'll be nibbly after all that meeting and greeting at the church door!
I know they're kinda boring to do on the day, but they're SO important afterwards, and you will want them for your wall. Caroline has to get a wee a bit (politely) bossy so we can get these crucial photos done, but quickly so we can get you on your merry way. Getting them done before the venue is ideal, as there's no doubt if you leave them until later, someone will be gone to check in or change a nappy! Hence, delays happen and that eats into your time chilling out & cocktailing with your lovely guests!
Folks, enjoy your photo shoot with your new hubby/wifey – it's your only time to have a break away from all the guests and check in with each other! So many lads tell us, “Oh I'm not into the camera at all, I'm so shy on camera etc etc” - don't worry, we totally understand. All we do is ask you to walk over there, have chats, appreciate each other, take each other in – look at all that beauty, those outfits, those eyes, those hugs, that love.. Feel it guys. Enjoy it. The less posing for us the better. Just enjoy each other. We just want to capture all that pure love and excitement. Oh and ladies, if weather ain't super flash bring a pair of extra comfy shoes in the car, just in case we need them, to save the ivory flowers ;-)
Your photo / film team:
Your wedding documentation is so important, it's pretty much all you've left after the celebrations die down. Make sure when you're choosing your photographer and videographer that they have similar styles! Even better, that they know each other, and how each other shoot on the day. That's why we've come together as a team. As a female Wedding Photographer, Caroline is very tuned into brides and their needs. We feel there is so much strength in going out as a husband and wife team because we understand each others movements and what shots the other needs to get, and where we need to be to help each other out - resulting in both of us working hard to get the best results possible. Using the same company for your wedding film and photographs ensures you get a streamlined and coherent style that compliment each other, leaving you with longstanding, stunning memories of the most magical day of your lives!!
The most important thing to us is that you guys have an absolute blast on your big day. No doubt, you'll hear (over and over) “the day flies” and it really does. That's why we like to shoot naturally as we go, and not take you away from your guests for long. We want you to relax and enjoy it all, and we'll enjoy it too, alongside you, because for us, it's all about meeting amazing new people like yourselves. And you may never have this group of people together in the same place again in your life, so we want to capture all them gorgeous moments. Essentially, we want you to have a really positive and enjoyable experience working with us!
